The Superheroes Run, one of the most anticipated competitions at Sports Festival, returns to Cluj Arena in 2025, offering participants another chance to combine sports with the desire to give back to the community. This time, the superheroes’ route intertwines with the road that unites them. Half the registration fee will be donated to the Via Transilvanica project of the Tășuleasa Social Association. This 1,400 km tourist trail crosses Romania, connecting people and communities through movement. Whether traveling on foot or by bike, Via Transilvanica offers a journey through nature and culture, promoting the same active lifestyle and spirit of discovery that Sports Festival encourages.

The Superheroes Run 2025 will take place on Sunday, June 15, starting at 09:00.
Mirel Alexa, Executive Director of Sports Festival:
“The Superheroes Run is not just a competition but an experience that brings together sports and the desire to do good for the community. Over the years, our runners have become accustomed to making a positive impact, and this edition continues the tradition. Every participant experiences the intensity of a real race, the challenge of pushing their own limits, and the satisfaction of contributing to an important cause. This year, with the support of each runner, we are backing Via Transilvanica, a project that promotes nature, culture, and the authentic connection between people. The fact that half of the registration fee goes directly to this unique trail is a simple and concrete way for runners to be part of an initiative with real impact. Sports help us connect with ourselves, and this run is an opportunity to inspire and channel this energy into community support.”

Tibi Ușeriu, Coordinator and Ambassador of Via Transilvanica:
“I firmly believe that sports should be one of the most important aspects of our lives, just like family, the projects we engage in, or our passions. Sports, in all its forms, define us as individuals, instill responsibility and discipline, and teach children valuable lessons through movement. I have supported Sports Festival since its first edition, and I am delighted to see that this year the Superheroes Run supports the Tășuleasa Social Association. As an ambassador for Via Transilvanica, I believe more initiatives like this should exist to promote both Romania and an active lifestyle among people.”
For those who wish to further support this initiative, additional donations can be made either online at https://www.viatransilvanica.com/ro/doneaza/ or on-site.

About the Superheroes Run
The Superheroes Run has become one of the most beloved competitions at Sports Festival, bringing together participants eager to combine running with supporting important community causes.
Over the past two years, more than 1,500 superheroes have lined up at the starting line for each edition, proving that running can have a real impact. In 2023, the supported cause was the renovation of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic “Dominic Stanca” in Cluj-Napoca, a project initiated by the Metropolis Foundation as part of the Public Hospitals from Private Funds campaign. In 2024, the run continued this mission, supporting the renovation of the Neonatology Department of the same maternity hospital under the motto “Running for Cluj!”
About Tășuleasa Social Association
Founded in 2000, Tășuleasa Social Association carries out volunteer, educational, environmental, sports, and socio-cultural projects focused on changing young people’s mindsets. Over its 25 years of activity, it has engaged more than 100,000 volunteers in its initiatives.
Currently, its most important project is Via Transilvanica—Romania’s first long-distance trail. Spanning approximately 1,400 km from Putna to Drobeta-Turnu Severin, it crosses seven historical regions, ten counties, and 12 UNESCO sites, highlighting the country’s ethnic, cultural, and natural diversity.
The sixth edition of SPORTS FESTIVAL, Romania’s largest multi-sport event dedicated to mass sports, will take place on June 12-15, 2025, in Cluj-Napoca. Following a successful edition this year, featuring global tennis legends, the organizers are preparing new surprises and challenges for sports lovers.
As always, the event will take place in and around Cluj Arena, including the Stadium Alley, Radisson Garden, Central Park, the children’s park near the stadium, and Iuliu Hațieganu Park.
