A Legendary Tennis Showdown
Romania’s golden tennis duo, Horia Tecău and Simona Halep, will take the court for a special exhibition match alongside their guests. The event will be held on June 10 at BT Arena and will mark the retirement of Horia Tecău, the Olympic silver medalist and two-time Grand Slam doubles champion.
A Football Farewell to Remember
Romania’s all-time top scorer, Adrian Mutu, will also celebrate his career with a highly anticipated farewell match on June 12 at Cluj Arena. Football legends Francesco Totti and Andrea Pirlo have been invited to take part in this incredible game. Joining them will be the legendary Gheorghe Hagi, the man who wore and honored Romania’s iconic No. 10 jersey before Mutu, leaving an unforgettable mark on world football.
A Long-Awaited Comeback
The third edition of Sports Festival was initially scheduled for June 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. Tickets already purchased for the two exhibition matches, as well as vouchers issued in place of tickets, will remain valid for the 2022 event.
Tennis and football fans who haven’t yet secured their tickets will have the chance to purchase the remaining available seats in spring 2022 when ticket sales reopen.
A Festival Like No Other
“We are extremely excited to announce a new edition of SPORTS FESTIVAL.
With two WTA 250 tournaments organized in 2021, we have strengthened our mission to develop Romania’s sports industry and offer the public unique sports & entertainment opportunities.
Now, we return to our first love—the Sports Festival universe, a celebration of all sports. We are thrilled to have these giants of Romanian sports alongside us.
This is a one-of-a-kind event where anyone can discover their passion for sports and watch champions play live, after only seeing them on TV or online in recent years. We have poured our hearts into creating this event, and we hope to see you all at the festival.
Sports mean, above all, health, and this is the main message we want to share.“*
