Two new legends of world football are joining the spectacular football event at Sports Festival 2025! Renowned goalkeeper Júlio César and Ricardinho, a six-time Best Futsal Player in the World award winner, will play alongside Ronaldinho in the exhibition match taking place in Cluj on June 14 at BTarena.
Júlio César, a former Brazilian international and one of the best goalkeepers of his generation, was a key player for Inter Milan for seven seasons. In the same season, he won five Serie A titles, the UEFA Champions League in 2010, and was named the Best Goalkeeper in Europe. With 87 appearances for the Brazilian national team, César participated in three World Cups and won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013.
Ricardinho, nicknamed “O Mágico” (The Magician), is recognized as one of the greatest futsal players of all time, impressing with his incredible technique and game vision. Throughout his career, he has won six Ballon d’Or and “Best Player of the World” awards and played a crucial role in Portugal’s national team, winning the UEFA Futsal Euro in 2018 and the FIFA Futsal World Cup in 2021. His spectacular style and technical skills make him a perfect player for an event dedicated to showmanship and sporting entertainment.
The two stars join the already confirmed big names for the most anticipated exhibition match of the year in Romania: Ronaldinho, Marco Materazzi, and Wesley Sneijder. The June 14 event, organized at BTarena Cluj-Napoca, will deliver a unique football show. The audience will have the chance to see the legendary Brazilian player in an exclusive concept focused on entertainment and skill, with Ronaldinho as the main attraction. Tickets for the Ronaldinho & Friends exhibition match are limited to the arena’s capacity. The first ticket sales phase, which took place on December 17, 2024, was a huge success, with all 3,000 available tickets selling out in just 45 minutes. In the second phase, which began on January 21, another 3,000 tickets were released. The event is now completely SOLD OUT.
Sports Festival 2025 – new surprises and challenges for sports enthusiasts
The sixth edition of SPORTS FESTIVAL, Romania’s largest multi-sport event dedicated to mass sports, will take place from June 12-15, 2025, in Cluj-Napoca. Following a highly successful edition this year featuring global tennis legends, organizers are preparing new surprises and challenges for sports lovers. As usual, the event will be held in and around Cluj Arena, Aleea Stadionului, Radisson Garden, Central Park, the children’s park near the stadium, and Iuliu Hațieganu Park.
The festival’s concept is a generous one: for four days, sports take over the streets, encouraging participants to rediscover the joy of movement. At the Sports Festival, the biggest competition is with yourself. The 2024 edition (June 13-16) was a full spectacle of sports, where attendees had the chance to try out new sports, have fun staying active, compete in various tournaments, and meet world sports legends. Andre Agassi and his wife, Stefanie Graf, traveled across the ocean to meet Romanian fans. The two played in an exclusive tennis exhibition match in Cluj-Napoca, alongside Simona Halep, Andrei Pavel, Justin Gimelstob, and Horia Tecău at BTarena, delivering a magical evening for nearly 10,000 fans in attendance.
